Eco-friendly Relief Printing with Nadia Korths – Experience the transformation inherent in printmaking! Create prints on rice paper using objects symbolic to you, or use objects from the teacher’s collection.

Saturday, May 5 from 10:00am-12:00pm, non-toxic soy-based inks create rich, deep colors which wash off with soap and water for easy cleanup. $20 + $15 materials fee. Saturday, March 10th, 11:00 am – 2:30 pm. Workshop: “Marketing Channels”: Who is your buyer? Where are your markets? How do you get your products out there? All participants will review each others’ products and marketing materials. Answers will emerge. Information packet teeming with recent articles included. Artisans and artists welcome. Location: LARAC, downtown Glens Falls.
Presented by: Nadia Korths, who has provided more than 1200 small artisan businesses with marketing workshops since 2000. She also ran ANCA’s regional gift trade show for 15 years. Join her for an informal, hands-on session. She is developing markets for her styrofoam relief hand print and word image pieces. 7 participants.

Dec. 6th, 2011 – Presentation – 1 hour – AEDC, Saranac Lake core class training – Show control panel of WordPress website design / content management open source free software. 17 students.

Workshop Description:

No technical skills needed. Create your own print from objects symbolic to you. While you recycle. Experience your creativity – trust the process – experience the transformation inherent in printmaking. Non-toxic soy oil based inks – rich, deep colors – washes off with soap and water. Share made-from-scratch foods and beverages at end of workshop.

Bring objects which can leave marks and/or indent 4.5 x 6.5 in. styrofoam trays. You are very welcome to recycle some of your own trays.

Artist printmaker supplies:
- styrofoam trays (typically found in supermarket meat and/or produce display coolers) for printing plates
- objects (I have a few :-) )!
- rice paper
- soy oil based Akua Intaglio inks
- brushes, rollers, whatever works to put ink on plate,
- hand pressing tools; spoons, etc.
- made from scratch foods, typically stew (often venison), green salad and bread. You bring drink.
- prints scanned during workshop. additional 7$. Bring flashdrive.

3 hours, 45$/participant. Maximum of 4 people. Please note that there are 15 steps to the Saranac Lake Studio. There is always the wonderful www.BluseedStudios.org with print studios on ground floor if needed.
